White House Tells Republicans to Back Off “Mass Deportation” Talk
Reporting this brings us no joy, but Democrats are poised to dominate this year’s midterms. The GOP is tied to the historically unpopular Iran War, and the more that liberals campaign against it, the more races they will win.
If we were Republican candidates, our strategy would be to talk about Iran as little as possible. Instead, we would focus on winning conservative issues like immigration. Donald Trump’s promise to run the largest mass deportation operation in U.S. history fueled his 2024 victory, and we would make that message a pillar of our platform. At least we would have.
The Trump administration reportedly urged House Republicans on Tuesday to stop emphasizing mass deportations and instead focus their messaging on removing violent criminals, essentially replacing MAGA’s immigration policy with Jeb Bush’s. The change comes after the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good caused approval ratings of the president’s immigration policy to plummet.
