Trump Wants Iran War to End Soon. Israel Does Not.
America’s objectives in Iran differ greatly from Israel’s.
Donald Trump wants to end the war “quickly,” according to an article published by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, but the Israelis disagree and are committed to “creating conditions for regime change.”
The piece highlights how the U.S. wants to destroy the Iranian military and the threat it purportedly poses to our country, but the Netanyahu government seeks much more. Its leaders demand the conflict drag on until Iran installs a new regime that is conveniently pro-Israel.
Any president committed to putting America First would disregard Israel’s wants and do what is best for our nation. If Trump determines that America’s goals are achieved, then he should declare victory and leave, no matter what Netanyahu says. Whether he does will determine whether the United States has sovereignty, or if we are feeble puppets, dancing on Israel’s strings.
