“He Raped Me and He Choked Me”: Swalwell Accuser’s Press Conference Pulls No Punches
Former model Lonna Drewes aired her sexual abuse accusations against Eric Swalwell on Tuesday, speaking at a press conference hours after the former congressman announced his resignation.
Drewes recalled meeting Swalwell in 2018 and embracing him as a professional mentor. Given that both were married and his wife was pregnant, she said she “was not interested in him romantically,” but rather “was interested in the business relations and the professional connections he offered.” Swalwell allegedly had other ideas.
Drewes said that the politician drugged her during a political event, feeding her such a heavy dose that she could not move after just one glass of wine. Then, she said he took her to his hotel room.
“When I arrived at that hotel room, I was already incapacitated,” Drewes told reporters. “He raped me, and he choked me, and while he was choking me, I lost consciousness, and I thought I died.”
