Vance Heads Back to Pakistan for Iran Peace Talks. The Iranians Might Stay Home.

JD Vance will reportedly travel back to Pakistan today for a second round of Islamabad-based Iran War peace talks. Whether the Iranians will join him remains unknown.

Iranian state media reported on Sunday that Tehran had no plans to send a delegation to the summit, saying President Trump’s “maximalism and unreasonable and unrealistic demands, frequent changes of positions, constant contradictions, and the continuation of the so-called naval blockade” showed there was “no clear prospect of fruitful negotiations.” Although Mojtaba Khamenei has reportedly given his government permission to negotiate since then, officials have not disclosed whether they will do so in Pakistan.

Would the White House really send the Vice President to a nonexistent meeting? The Iranians failing to show up would further prove that America does not really run the world. Our power is limited, and we cannot command everybody else to do as we please. This could be the Iran War’s greatest lesson.
