“Work Boots and Subarus”: Local Officials Say the Backlash Against Flock Cameras Is Becoming Bipartisan

That is the title of this article published by Politico on Sunday. It reports that over 20 American jurisdictions either stopped using Flock cameras or began the process of deFlocking in July, the highest number in at least five years. 

Different communities had varying reasons for getting rid of Flock, ranging from concerns that the government could use the cameras in immigration enforcement to hostility over the Orwellian technology tracking people as they drive to church. No matter where anti-Flock activists stood on the political spectrum, they all agreed that the surveillance state is an invasion of privacy.

Stories like this show how badly America needs a political revolution. Yes, Republicans and Democrats love to argue about things like trans bathroom laws, but regular people on both “sides of the aisle” overwhelmingly agree about the issues that really matter. Those include economics, war, privacy, and corruption. If regular citizens unite, we will defeat the establishment.
