California’s homelessness crisis has grown so out of control that locals are hiring former gang members to combat the hobos.

Venice residents and businesses are reportedly paying the reformed gangsters and recovering addicts hundreds of dollars to monitor their properties and stave off homeless intruders. The contractors call themselves the “Ghost Town Consultants,” and their Instagram account highlights their “deep roots on the West Side since the 1930s.” The firm’s job is simple: get the methheads out. 

“They come by, and they talk to them, and they get them to move,” apartment owner Rick Swinger told the California Post. “It’s very peaceful.”
