Ex-Fauci Adviser Pleads Guilty to Plotting to Hide COVID Research
Anthony Fauci has made a lot of headlines lately, but not for good reasons. That trend continued on Tuesday.
An ex-adviser to the former COVID tsar and NIAID director has pleaded guilty to plotting to conceal federal records related to research on the origins of the pandemic. The Justice Department says that Dr. David Morens used his private email account to intentionally circumvent public records laws while employed under Fauci and that he concealed or destroyed records of discussions related to COVID-19 research grants. He will receive his sentence in November. It could reach five years.
It is comfortably possible that Fauci himself committed similar crimes, and his recent pleading of the Fifth Amendment over 100 times did nothing to decrease speculation that he likely has something to hide. Thanks to Joe Biden’s autopen pardon, however, he will never stand trial. The powerful play by different rules than regular Americans.
